good hair daze.
I am in attempts to tame my mane as a prepare for my big European adventure. There is nothing that bothers me more than a bad hair day. Thanks to my awesome stylist, Delaney, I can always count on her to give my locks some love.
Every head of hair is different, but Delaney always manages to make everyone look flawless in their own way. I had to ask her some questions during my last appointment before I fly across the ocean in order to keep my hair looking just as fabulous over there as it does when I leave the salon.
Q: I love being blonde, but my roots grow in darker. How can I keep it low maintenance while I travel without ditching my light locks?
A: Embrace the roots! It isn’t 1999 anymore. Having a little bit of roots grown out is OK. In fact, I paint fake roots on many clients to create the “grown out” look. You can easily blend pretty blonde pieces into that rooty color to get the best of both worlds: blonde hair with low maintenance, natural looking roots!
Q: We are going to Italy and it can be somewhat humid, especially in the summer! What is your must-have product to travel with that will tame the mane?
A: If you’re going to get up, shower, and go: apply the Moroccan Oil Treatment or Moroccan Oil Frizz Control to wet hair and style simply- a messy braid or half bun. Putting hair into a low maintenance style on humid days is the way to go.
Q: Like any other traveler, we are excited to take pictures in front of many beautiful scenes. Being abroad requires a lot of movement and fast-paced moments – what hairstyle is cute enough for pictures, yet low-maintenance enough for traveling?
A: When I’m traveling, I want my hair out of my face, especially when it’s hot and muggy out. If you’re going to be strolling the streets of Italy and planning to take a picture with your gelato, back comb your hair a bit and pin it half up. This allows you to have a bit of volume, but you don’t really look like you tried too hard to style. Another favorite is the high messy bun on top of your head. It looks cute at every angle so you can’t go wrong. If you’re going to be taking some cute pictures at the beach, I would do absolutely nothing to style. Embrace that messy beach hair, throw in some Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Spray and roll with it!
Q: I get bored if I stay in one place for too long, my hair is the same way! I love to constantly change my style and color with the seasons. What are your favorite Instagram accounts to follow for upcoming trends?
Q: If you could only give one piece of advice, what would your number one hair tip be for women who are traveling or always on-the-go?
A: Dry. Shampoo. If you are traveling for a long period of time, your hair is going to be going through many different climate changes. Over-washing while traveling is very easy to do. Always have a travel-sized bottle of dry shampoo on hand. You can skip the wash, save yourself some time and give your hair a break. My favorite dry shampoo brand (and I’ve tried many) is Moroccan Oil. They even have two different kinds, one for blondes and one for brunettes! This eliminates any leftover white residue for dark haired gals.
