hello, wine country.

villa il poggiale views of perfection.

Imagine rolling hills of vineyards, rich history and a scene in the running for the most breathtaking sunsets thus far.

This is how you know you’ve arrived in Tuscany.

As I traveled through the green landscape, I thought it couldn’t get any better – until I arrived with my chauffeur to the iron gate of Villa Il Poggiale.

Villa Il Poggiale is an extravagant estate in the secluded countryside of Tuscany. The golden hue and architecture of the Villa’s exterior creates the essence of a daydream. Whether you are searching for romance or relaxation, Villa Il Poggiale delivers.

Welcome to the Villa, I know you’re intrigued.

They say first impressions last a lifetime.

I can reassure you that I will never forget my first view of the Villa, and for good reasons. The grand entrance reminiscent of the Renaissance is surrounded by beautifully landscaped greenery. As I walked through the arches of the entryway, it was impossible to contain a smile. From the beginning, I was taken aback by the amount of scenery and countryside I had seen from only being there for two minutes.

The room was beautifully painted, like many of the other areas on the main level of the Villa. Intricate detail of original paintings lined the walls and doors of our space. The vaulted ceiling, vintage furniture and deep red accents made me feel like a princess – I can’t forget to mention the master bath, too. Each room is also equipped with tea, coffee and an honesty bar to please all tastes.

Beyond my room, I found many other areas to explore. The interior is filled with Tuscan inspired furniture and even more originally painted walls. I was in awe as I walked from room to room – each had its own personality and purpose. The winding hallways and stairs led me to a new and brilliant space with each turn I took.

Villa Il Poggiale is also filled with areas to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are multiple patios, a pool area and balconies to watch the sunset or enjoy a nice glass of wine. Whether it be walking through paths lined with vines and flowers, some relaxation at the pool or overlooking Tuscany on one of the many terraces – the view was unforgettable.

When you have had enough time outside (which I think is impossible at Villa Il Poggiale), you are still in luck. Each guest is provided with full access to the spa in the basement of the villa. Whether you are looking for a day in the sauna, time in the jacuzzi or a relaxing massage, Villa Il Poggiale provides them all. I started our morning in the sauna with some warm tea and white robes. It would be a lie if I said I didn’t want to spend my entire day there.

The Food

From breakfast to dinner, the Villa Il Poggiale menu was to be devoured.

Psst, don’t view these photos while hungry, you’ll regret it.

My favorite meal was at dinner, where I overlooked the pink Tuscan sunset as I enjoyed some of the most delicious food I have had through my travels. My favorites were the fresh tomatoes with mozzarella and the stuffed chicken. So delicious!

My Suggestions

I love to give insight on things to do at all of my destinations. This usually includes trips from the hotel to different excursions. Villa Il Poggiale made this really easy because I didn’t need to leave the historical villa throughout my stay. Whether you need a spa day, a pool day, or want a good view for the sunset – the Villa has it all.
