Everyone thinks Iowa is filled with corn and cow tipping. But little do you know, there’s an abundance of creative people and cute neighborhoods right in the heart of the Midwest.

One of my favorite spots to explore in the summertime is Valley Junction, located in West Des Moines, IA. The streets are lined with small businesses, graffiti murals and an undeniable vintage feel.

With a six-pack of old Coke bottles in hand and red pumps on my feet, Stan and I strolled the brick sidewalks of Valley Junction.
